This striking specimen features round rosettes of metallic, lustrous hematite crystals beautifully perched on a contrasting matrix of white albite. The hematite exhibits a silvery-black sheen and forms in radiating, flower-like clusters that catch the light with a brilliant, mirror-like luster. The albite matrix provides a bright, snowy backdrop that enhances the visual impact of the hematite, creating a dramatic interplay of textures and tones. Originating from Pakistan, this combination highlights the aesthetic and geological richness of the region, making it a prized piece for collectors and mineral enthusiasts alike.

The name Hematite comes from a Greek word meaning Blood which is derived from the fact that, when cut, the saw coolant becomes colored red. Hematite is one of the most common minerals. The color of most red and brown rocks, such as sandstone, is caused by small amounts of Hematite.
It is also responsible for the red color of many minerals. Hematite can be in reddish-brown, dark silvery-grey scaled masses, ocherous masses, silvery-grey crystals, and dark-grey masses. Formerly used as mourning jewelry, but today mainly for rings and necklaces. It takes a very high polish.Â
